Congratulations to our outstanding athletes for their nomination for an AMA Award as Best Athlete for 2024.

Sprints/Hurdles: Jenn Parker. Magnificent year for Jenn with State records in long and short hurdles and only just missing a medal in the World Championships

Middle/Steeple: Marg Saunders. Australian records in 800m/1000m early in the year. Then Gold in the WMA steeplechase in Gothenburg followed by Silver in the 800m and Bronze in the 1500m

Distance. Claudia Seke. A brilliant 10,000m State Record in February

Throws. Jo Peters. What a year for Jo. The Royce Foley Trophy in Hobart, numerous Australian and State Records, plus great results at the WMA Champs in Gothenburg

Multis: Sue Coate What an athlete, pioneering the Women’s decathlon

Best female: Jenn Parker. A true all rounder, Jenn has re-written the W55 State records in hurdles, jumps and throws
